Australians are being invited to eat their way into winning huge donations for their favourite charities – by taking a tasty bite out of Dick Smith’s products.
Dick is giving away a total of $500,000 at 11am on Tuesday 8th July at the Wayside Chapel Community Hall , 29 Hughes St , Potts Point to 37 different charities, but there is still time for supporters to take a chunk of the charity cash from Mr Smith’s new not-for-profit Food Foundation.
All people are required to do is take a photograph of any of Dick Smith’s products on their pantry shelf and text or email it to: email@example.com – together with the nominated charity they would like to see receive a donation. As a ‘thank you’ voters names will be added to a website list of supporters, along with the charities.
Nominations for who will receive the first half of a $1 million total “take-away” will close on June 30. (See Dick Smith’s website for details: https://dicksmithfoods.com.au/charity-breakthrough)
The remaining $500,000, raised by the Dick Smith Foods Foundation, will be given away in December.
Over the whole year, the generous donations will include four of $50,000, ten of $20,000 and 60 amounts of $10,000 each. In all, a total of 74 different charities will benefit.
Dick and his wife, Pip, recently signed over the intellectual property from their food lines to the new The Dick Smith Foods Foundation to ensure all profits go to charity. Now it is up to their customers to choose which charities benefit from this largess.
So Dick’s message to caring consumers is to “get buying, photographing and get voting. It’s not too late for people to vote for their favourite charitable organisation.”
